Vacation Ideas With Kids

Colonial Williamsburg is a small town in Virginia that has been completely restored to replicate the colonial period in history. Its sole purpose is to give the visitor a real look at life as it was in the 18th century. This is one of the best vacation spots for children because they will become engaged in the experience as they see history acted out before their eyes by the real life artisans and costumed actors that inhabit the town. Teenagers will see the characters and culture that they learned about in school come to life.
The children will see the toys that the kids played with back 200 years and get a chance to play some of the popular games from the time period. At the Military Encampment, the kids can march and drill and even pretend to fire a cannon. There are loads of hands-on activities for the whole family.
